Vehicle Damage Disputes

Specialty Damage Reports & Independent Vehicle Damage Assessments

Independent assessment when an insurer disputes whether specific vehicle damage or repair work is related to a reported loss.

Scope confirmed before work begins

When This Report May Be Appropriate

Sometimes an insurer accepts that a loss occurred but disputes whether particular damage, components or repair operations are related to that event. IA Reports reviews the available evidence and documents whether the observed damage pattern and supporting information are consistent with the reported loss.

What We May Review

  • Incident and claim information
  • Vehicle photographs and inspection findings
  • Repair estimates and disputed operations
  • Mechanical or structural observations within the appraisal scope
  • Supporting records and available before/after evidence

What the Report Provides

A written, evidence-based opinion explaining the observations, available documentation and whether the disputed damage appears consistent with the reported loss, subject to the information and inspection scope available.

Claim Support

Where the evidence supports a relationship between the disputed damage and reported loss, IA Reports documents the findings clearly and can communicate the appraisal position with the insurer when authorized. Approval remains the insurer's decision.

Scope & pricing: Specialty Damage Reports are quoted case by case. The scope, inspection requirements, documentation needs and applicable fee are confirmed before paid work begins.
